Stories from South Florida workers who have been paid less than minimum wage, not paid for overtime worked, forced to work off the clock, or simply not paid at all.
Wage Theft Stories in South FloridaWage theft is a growing problem across America and in Florida, as employers seek to cut costs. Workers are paid less than minimum wage, not paid for overtime worked, forced to work off the clock, or simply not paid at all. The problem is especially acute in South Florida because of the numerous low-wage and hourly jobs that make up our tourism and service sector economy and because of the large number of immigrant workers who are vulnerable to exploitation and may be unfamiliar with their labor rights. This booklet presents stories collected by the South Florida Wage Theft Task Force of workers who have been victims of wage theft.
