Housed in Florida International University’s Center for Labor Research and Studies, RISEP draws on the long time expertise of labor researchers to study issues relating to unions and union members in Florida. Although Florida has a very low unionization rate, even in traditionally unionized sectors like manufacturing and construction, our research shows that unionization does make a difference in terms of health and safety, wages and benefits, job satisfaction and civic engagement among workers.
